An experiment in land restitution in Salento
Masseria Silene is a family project born from the desire to restore value to the land and, at the same time, to rediscover a more authentic way of being in the world.
It means choosing a place, a time and a meaning: cultivating respect, cherishing beauty, generating well-being for people, for the community, for nature.
The project began in 2021 as an experiment in land consolidation in an area of extraordinary environmental and landscape value: 15 hectares less than 4 km from the Ionian Sea, in the heart of the Terra d'Arneo.

Earth & Biodiversity
Organic farming protocols from the outset. Against intensive and monocultural production. The first step: replanting olive trees destroyed by Xylella, restoring biodiversity where it had been erased.

Spacious areas, maximum privacy. Each home has its own hectare, its own silence, its own freedom.

THE STORY
How Masseria Silene was born
An untouched place, less than four kilometres from the Ionian Sea. At the heart of the estate: the core of Masseria Sant'Antonio. We have chosen to leave the land to its original role, that of producing life.
2021
Project start
Purchase and initial assessment of 15 hectares in the Terra d'Arneo. Recognition of the area's landscape and environmental potential. Immediate adoption of organic farming protocols.
2022
Replant life
First concrete action: replanting olive trees destroyed by Xylella. Expansion of tree variety, reintroduction of biodiversity from intensive production models and the progressive abandonment of the countryside by new generations.
2023
Restoration and residences
Recovery and conservative restoration of existing structures with attention to the “words of the stone”: commencement of the recovery of the manor complex, the recovery project for the trulli and “pagliare” (traditional dry-stone huts), and the project to bring the core of the ancient Masseria Sant'Antonio back to life. Every intervention conceived with respect for traditions, original materials, and Salento aesthetics.
2024
First harvest and opening
First bottles of Imalia, Horios, Eurito wines. Development of an internal supply chain for ancient, NON-GMO grains with initial tests for flours, pasta, and artisan biscuits.
2025
Growth and new experiences
Development of the small Agricamping along the Via del Mare. Expansion of the experiential offer: apricot and olive harvesting, nature trails, the communal organic garden, and spaces for events and weddings. The space for Art. The farmhouse understood as a living community, in continuous evolution and rooted in the territory.
